It is the time to spread pink carpet through.
From April to May, Sakura as the cherry blossoms in Japanese run over Japan. Once cherry blossoms are in full bloom, they usually only last for about a week before all the petals scatter to the ground. That is part of being a beauty.
Here is at the Odawara castle near by Hakone, taking about 30 mitutes by the Shinkansen as express train or 90 mitutes by a local train.

And you can see the Pacific Ocean about 10 minutes walk from the Odawara castle.
